Audacia Manor, built in 1928, is a beautifully restored old family home nestled in a secluded cul de sac on the slopes of Durban's Berea in KwaZulu-Natal. Originally the home of the Chapman family, Audacia Manor is now a listed historical building. From silky wood panelling to generous verandahs and pretty gardens, Audacia Manor promises a warm welcome to all GUESTS.
The first view of the estate is of the elegant facade, shuttered windows thrown open to embrace the warm African sun. Wander down to the sparking pool and have a refreshing cocktail at the Anderson Sports Bar, overlooking gently landscaped gardens and the bright blue ocean beyond. Sink into comfortable sofas in the spacious, cool Drawing Room. Explore the herb garden off the Ascot Conference Room. Take tea on the generous, shaded verandah, where we also serve breakfast every morning. Watch the ships out on the bay from the Cocktail Bar, sundowner in hand, after a hectic day. Or choose something to read from the book-lined dining room and take it out onto the croquet lawn to catch the last few rays of Durban's sunshine. Gourmet meals and a fabulous South African wine selection are available throughout the day and are served at your favourite spot in the house.
From her elevated location, Audacia Manor is one of the original Grand Dames of Durban welcomes GUESTS with genteel charm. Whether visiting for a day, an evening or a week, GUESTS are encouraged to treat Audacia Manor as their own.
